November in cursive

For this lesson, we will learn how to write the word Thanksgiving in cursive.

how to write Thanksgiving using the cursive alphabet

To write Thanksgiving in cursive you need to follow the same rules you do with all holidays.  The first letter of Thanksgiving should use a capital T.  The capital T will not be connected to the lower case h.  After that, all letters will flow and be connected together.  The lower case k should extend above the middle line but not all the way to the top line.  Both lower case gees should drop below the bottom line down to the line below that.  Your writing utensil shouldn’t come off the page until you are ready to dot the i’s.   Practice this over and over until you are really good at it.  Alternate writing the words November and Thanksgiving in cursive.

Cursive U

How to write a cursive U:

upper case cursive U

The upper case cursive U is very similar to the standard English upper case U.  To draw a capital U in cursive begin by making a loop at the top left and then swing a line down and out to the left and then curving back to the right and up to the top.  Then retrace your line back down near the bottom and hook it around to connect to the next letter in the word.

To draw a lower case u in cursive begin with the lead in line which starts at the bottom line and goes up to the right to the mid line.  Then draw a line downward and curve it around and back up, like a standard English lower case u.  Finally, retrace most of your line back down and curve it around, ready to connect to the next letter in your cursive word.

Now that we have discussed how to write a cursive U we have now covered all the vowels in the alphabet.  So this weekend would be a great time for all of you to practice all of your cursive vowels.  Write a cursive A, E, I, O, and U ten times in a row.  Tomorrow we will learn how to draw the cursive V.
